Tisha is Pasadena through and through. She was born and raised there, has worked for the city for the past 20 years, and now, through years of saving and Greenline’s assistance, she is a proud homeowner in the city.
When she was growing up, Pasadena was a different place. There were strong, middle class, black neighborhoods, but over the years, those neighborhoods have gentrified. That’s one of the main reasons why Tisha wanted to stay and buy in Pasadena.
Another reason is her parents were never homeowners and as a single mother of two young men, Tisha wants to be able to pass down this property to them one day.
Additionally, Tisha is passionate about community engagement, doing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work and serving on the executive board of the local chapter of the NAACP.
“I truly want to protect, support, and empower the black community of Pasadena. Although small in numbers, we are still here and deserve to have our voices heard and concerns addressed. We deserve to have our humanity seen and a quality of life that is productive, safe, and sustaining for a long and healthy life. This is why it is important for me to live in Pasadena. I want to be a voting member of the community. I want to be a stakeholder in what happens in the future of this amazing city.”
