Born and raised in Altadena, Dana Brumfield had only moved four times in 50 years. But after the Eaton Fire devastated Altadena and destroyed her family home in January, she found herself moving 14 times in the first 100 days after being evacuated from her home.
“That was a lot for me, to pick up and move every week,” she said. “[You] get comfortable and then you’re moving again.”
But as of May, Brumfield is getting comfortable in a year-long lease in Glendale — thanks to the work of the Greenline Housing Foundation.
Brumfield’s story is probably familiar to many families who have lost their homes in the Eaton Fire. Greenline Housing Foundation hopes to help families like Brumfield’s rebuild Altadena and the neighborhoods that have called it home for decades through their Eaton Fire Relief Fund.
