Born and raised in the Bay Area, Krystina moved down to Southern California to attend college. After college she bounced around a bit, but eventually settled down in Pasadena, California where she found community and a place to call “home.” She’s a Pediatric Cardiac Nurse at Children’s Hospital helping care for children diagnosed with heart defects that require surgical repair. She says the work is rewarding and the hardest thing she’s ever done. She says growing up she knew about redlining and other practices and systems that made it harder for people like her, a single, black woman, to own a home, but she didn’t give up! She’s looking forward to building wealth and a legacy for her family and having a place for her friends and family to stay when they come into town to visit. Through hard work and perseverance and with a little help from Greenline, Krystina is now a proud homeowner.
