Jasmyne grew up in South LA but never really had a place to call home. Raised by a single mother, she and her siblings bounced around from place to place living in 13 different homes and apartments while growing up. Jasmyne faced housing instability in her early years as an adult as well. At one point her and her oldest son were homeless and living out of a car. However, Jasmyne worked hard and studied hard, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Psychology. Between her formal education and her life experiences, she has been able to give back and serve others as a social worker. First for children and families and now for homeless veterans. Her oldest son is now 13 years old and Jasmyne has been promising him his own room and a backyard to play in for years now. Homeownership for her means proving to others that when the odds are stacked against you that there’s still a way to achieve your dreams. Jasmyne recently received a down payment grant from Greenline which has helped make her dream of homeownership a reality! Congratulations, Jasmyne! You did it and welcome home!
